Margaret O’ Rourke – Ballad Singer

 Margaret O’ Rourke was born in Ballinagleragh in the townland of Drumnafinla. She sang with various groups and bands in her early years but she gained much recognition when she began singing with the Hi-Lows Showband in the late 70’s.



Margaret later sang with Paddy Kelly from Cloone, in what they then called “The Cloone Céilí Band”

Margaret’s Singing Career

Unfortunately in later years, Margaret was to lose her voice and had to quit singing. She was involved in many community activities in and around Drumkeerin until her untimely death in 2013.
